Message from Mayor Jacqueline Goodall:
The casino hearings will begin this week (Penn National today, Parx, Wednesday and MGM, Friday @ 2:00 and 6:30 at Friendly High School). I hope that you will be able to attend these important hearings that will have an impact on Oxon Hill and how this area develops economically.
In the last month I have had conversation with community leaders regarding the lack of community partnerships being announced by the casinos over and above the impact fee that Prince George's County will receive for the area. So you can imagine the surprise I had when I received this press release regarding Penn National's intent of giving back 100% of their profits to the Prince Georges community.
